About: Collinet Makosso, a Pointe-Noire native, held a position as a teacher. He first served as the Prefect of Kouilou’s political advisor before being named Director of the Prefect’s Cabinet. He served as Director of Antoinette Sassou Nguesso‘s First Lady’s Cabinet and a consultant to President Denis Sassou Nguesso from 1998 to 2011. After the President’s daughter Edith Lucie Bongo passed away in 2009, he issued a book of poems and short stories in her honour.
He finished his PhD in law at Panthéon-Assas University in 2010 and received it. On August 17, 2011, Collinet Makosso was appointed to the government as the Minister of Youth and Civic Education as part of a modest reorganisation. On August 25, 2011, he succeeded Zacharie Kimpouni as the ministry’s leader. Collinet Makosso’s duties were expanded when he was named Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Youth, and Civic Instruction.
