The five legendary brothers Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva who serve as the central characters of the Hindu epic Mahabharata are referred to as the Pandavas. Although they were fathered by several Devas since Pandu, the King of Kuru, was unable to conceive naturally, they are recognized as the sons of Pandu. Draupadi, the princess of Panchala, married Pandavas. Vaishno Devi is worshipped by Arjuna, who refers to her as the ultimate Yogin, the personification of victory itself, the giver of triumph, and the Mother of the Vedas and the Science of Vedanta. The temples at Kol Kandoli and Bhawan were believed to have been originally built by the Pandavas in honor of the Mother Goddess.
