Raja Sudarshan Shah of the Garhwal Kingdom, also known as Sudarshan Shah, was the founder and ruler of the present-day New Tehri city in the Tehri district. Between 1804 through 1859, he was the monarch of the realm. After the royal army beat Gorkha forces in the Battle of Khurbura, the British army helped the monarch rule the region.
