About: His ancestors hail from the Haskovo region’s Slavyanovo. He received a gold medal upon graduation from the Haskovo Mathematical School in 1982. He received the highest honour at the Georgi Benkovski Bulgarian Air Force University graduation in 1987. He received his degree at Maxwell AFB’s US Air Force Squadron Officer School in 1992. He attended the Rakovski Defence and Staff College from 1994 to 1996, where he also graduated as the best student. He has a doctorate in military sciences with a focus on improving flight crew tactical training and air combat simulation. He earned an honours Master of Strategic Studies degree from the Air War College, often known as Air University, at Maxwell AFB in the United States in 2003.
